I too have been to Dubai,its a fantastic place.My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Last year. This year,we stayed at the Towers Rotana Hotel. Our stay this time was during Ramadam.Not a good time to visit.You cannot eat or drink in public during sun rise to sun set. Difficult not, to want to drink...Water,when its 40+ Temp,outside.
I go to Dubai about 4 to 5 times a year, My husband works there and there is always something new to do. Try the ice bar called Chill Out in the Times Sqare Mall, its quite good at -6 degrees when its so hot outside. Plus the Mall of the Emirates with its 350+ shops, black run ski slope and cinemas. Best time to visit if you dont like it too hot is Nov-Mar, great bar at the Meridian in the Marina. No Alchol served at the restraunts in the Marina, but there are great restraunts serving alchol at Souk Madinat including good shops.
