I'm about to visit Poland for steam trains and get some impression of the country. I've got no problem with Polish people coming here. They are hard working and do the jobs that the lazy Brits are too proud to do. Good luck to them. Historically, they fought bravely against both the Germans and Russians, and we sold their country down the river after the war.

I have no problem with poles although I worry about the practice of horse-punching. Particularly in supermarkets. Alot of Poles are doing very good jobs here and it means that brits are freed up to do jobs that that they might prefer to do or not work at all which is the aim for alot of us. We might get to a stage where no brits work but we have immigrants who all work for us. if economically it works who's to say that's a bad thing? Who? We have a polish cleaner who is brilliant despite her weight.

i am polish but was born in britain my parents came in world war 2 my dad was in the raf both parents worked hard in the cotton mills often given jobs that the english wouldnt do.i have never been to poland but would love to see krakow where my mum was born. she was taken to a concentration camp at 16 years old. my dad came during the war to work in the english RAF in norfolk. very brave people my dad died at 59 but my mum is still here at 84. i agree poland was sold down the river. my mum was shot in the leg by gestapo soldier and forced to work on a german farm to get out of the concentration camp.

Getting to know about Poland and the the Polish because several are now working at my company. Lovely people, very friendly and hard working. Hoping I may get an invite home with one work friend, that way I will see the real Poland and how the Polish really live.

Reading that I'm wondering why being Pole myself I never been there... I've visited Cuba, Greece, etc. but never thought about visiting Polish coast. The problem there is the weather, you never know if it's going to be hot and sunny or chill and rainy. Comparing UK's summer to Polish one I must say it's much nicer there. Temps rich up to 30-35C.
Regarding selling Poland down the river I must say I totally agree with that. Not only after the war but on the first day of war especially. Poland, France and UK promised to defend themselfs (like today's NATO) but you left our nation bleed to death watching Germans attacking Westerplatte in Gdansk (also worth to visit) and rest of Poland. Then after the war you sold us to Russia showing again your cowardness even if we fought in "Battle of Britain" (144 Polish pilots in RAF - 29 died - they shot down 170 Luftwafe plains and damaged 36 which was 12% of Luftwafe force) and all over the Europe. We decoded Enigma and tought Brits how to do it which save you from unexpected attacks from Germans and eventually won you the war.
Now, unemployment in UK is 2,5% so... well you know.

I am from Poland. I strongly recommend polish sea and also polish mountains. Why I came to UK? Because I am qualified. As you are traveling to US and other countries to find a better job I just want to do something interesting which sometimes is impossible in Poland yet because of economy. I won't take your work place if you have higher qualification than me. Otherwise - SORRY :)) I have just one life and nobody have rights to say that I should stay in my country. I know that a lot of polish people is working below their qualifications despite education level but it is because we had no chance to learn english in 80', 90'. In UK is also a lot of people without qualification, but they are hard workers paying taxes. Younger than me are speaking fluently and they will do their best to make their dreams come true even somebody doesnt like it in UK.
