Poles living and working in the UK, oh what a disgrace.
Ah but it is perfectly acceptable for brits to live and work in france or spain.
Britain entered the EU which lifted restrictions on foreign immigration, we as brits are allowed to move to any country in the EU and work, including Poland. Since the 2004 EU expansion the freedom of european status allows them to live and work in nay european country without a denied access.
Unfortunatly many people in the UK think that Britain isn't part of europe a foreign land with no communication or connection with mainland europe. Since where part of the EU we have no power to deny access to any EU citizen unless the immigration becomes threatening.
I was in Poland myself a few years back. I was impressed with the people, contrary to the negitive image protrayed by the Germans,(I was working in germany at the time). It seemed to be a decent and civilized society. I think hear in Britian people who come in to contact with the Poles probably wish that their children were so hard working and well behaved. I think people must look at the huge influx of people from the new Europe and the changes in the laws as an oppertunity. We should look to conduct buissness with the new europe. People must start to look at themselves as Eurpoean and other countries in europe the same way that people from Ohio look at people from Mischigan, or California. I personally plan to build myself a holiday home somewhere on the Baltic Sea.
Polish people have as much right to live and work here as any one else they are a nation who respect their elders and look after family members well , a way of life that some from the U.K have lost over the years. Lets welcome them into our life's we will be a lot richer by the experience. They work hard and pay their way and are a genuine help in helping our small island improve its economy now and into the future , as the baby boom generation comes of retirement age and the population of Scotland has been shrinking over the years it is a much needed boost to maintain the working pool who in turn will help keep the wheels of industry turning. It will do wonders in improving the gene pool also, God bless them in their quest to live the dream they deserve it after all history has put them through. J.L.M.
I thought that this blog is about travelling to Poland not about whether Polish people are good for the UK economy or not!!!!
I've been in POland. My favourite place is Zakopane near Krakow - beauty of the mountains and spitit of the city dwellers is what made me love this place. Sea coast - not really. For that one I prefer Sapin or Portugal...
myself and a few close friends went traveling around eastern Europe made it to Poland excellent experience very friendly, zakopane (near krakow)was the best place food (well tasty) but the vodka (well OMG) bison herb.
Germany entered poland with polish resistance, with many polish soldiers killed. Even once germany had took full occupation of poland, the poles still resisted.
If anything the poles did everything to prevent german occupation, poland had the whole left country bordering germany.
This is a trip that i would really love to do, and if any one has a good idea when the best time to go i would be very grateful for advice. I do not think that the person who did this trip, set out to only show good scenes of poland, but the planning of this and the photos are brilliant, well done
We have been on holiday to Poland twice. First to Zakopane about 10 years ago. We went in May and it was surprisingly very hot. Scenery was beautiful too. Then, last new year we went to Ladek Zdroj which is the home town of some of my partner's work colleagues. It is a spa town in the south west with a river, lots of snow and mountains (not many shops though)and was totally amazing. We went skiing and skidooing very cheaply. The Bison Grass vodka was great too!! We will definitely be going back, but not sure how the forthcoming Euro-isation will affect the prices there??
