Grand Canyon helicopter ride
Today we joined an amazing helicopter tour over Grand Canyon.
On the way to Grand Canyon, we got some nice views of the Hover Dam.
Inside Grand Canyon the helicopter landed down in the Canyon, and we got a nice champange-lunch. Just when we were almost finished eating, suddenly it started raining and got really windy.
It was still windy when we took off, but it did not last too long, and we got some nice views on the way back also.
On the right is another helicopter in Grand Canyon. Maybe it looks like it, but It did not crash...
Afternoon and evening in Las Vegas
Back in Vegas, S. did some sightseeing. The Eifel tower inside the French hotel (hotel name forgotten) was supposed to be half the size of the original in Paris. That was probably a bit exaggerated, but still high enough to get some nice views of the city - including the water fountain show at the Bellagio.
K., ML and JA relaxed by the Bellagio pool in the evening sun.
The dinner at xxx restaurant at Bellagio was so nice, that we went again. Was the salmon even better the second time...?
Then time for some taxi-sightseeing, taking a ride up the Strip to the welcome to las vegas sign, to the Hard rock hotel and then ending at the Stratosphere hotel. To avoid the que we took a drink in the bar before going up to the Observation Deck and looking at the crazy people enjoying their ride in the Big Shot and X-scream at the top of the hotel.
This morning we checked out from the Bellagio and headed west. After some time at the highway we discovered we had missed the excit we planed to take into Death Valley and had to take the next one. A bit of extra driving there, but
not tot bad.
Death Valley was just as hot as expected. 117 degrees Fahrenheit - 47 degrees Celcius at the most.
Inside Death Valley we stopped at Furnance Creek for lunch and an icecream.
Good luck planning for your 30th wedding anniversary trip, Brenda:-)
