Hello there, can anyone tell me if its possible to travel from Milan airport (melpensa) to Lake Como and back to St Margherita in one day? We plan to fly to Milan and as it looks so close I would love to see Lake Como but then our accomodation is near to St Margherita on the first night of arrival (so we can do the cinque terra walk the following day).

Any suggestions on travelling this route by train or will we need to hire a car for Lake Como.

We would prefer not to drive if possible?
