I have just come back from a week in Dubrovnik;it is a beautiful place. However, the thought of that gorgeous cocktail needs to be tempered with the cost! Gin,Rum,Vodka and other spirits tend to 30 dinas a shot, with HouseWine costing 160 dinas a bottle. The quality is poor and with exchange rate at 10 dinas to the pound things not good value.(a large G&T will cost £8.40 in real money) The food is also dear and generally of poor quality, with some noteable exceptions.
spent some time in croatia back in october 2004 - the weather was great even further up the coast - zadar is a fantastic town but never got down to split, dubrovnik. Thinking about going this november, any idea what the weather will be like?
Dubrovnik is beautiful, but expensive. try eating away from the town. a short bus trip will take you south to Mlini and Cavtat, where you can eat and drink at a fraction of the "old town" cost. as for the weather, in November it tends to be quite cold. although the main leg of croatia is coastal it is also quite mountainous and if you are going during autumn and winter, wrap up warm!
