I just got back from this trip.... the positives were:
1. People were very friendly 2. The food was delicious and cheap (especially the fish dishes) 3. Lots of very quirky historical buildings 4. Some cool shops and bars in Lisbon, although you have to stay out late for the partying to really get started
The negatives:
1. Since the beaches were on the atlantic, the water was f-f-f-freezing, so I hardly dared to swim! I know.. I'm a wimp! But on the plus side, the surfers did seem to be enjoying themselves 2. People still light-up in restaurants... which is a lot worse than being in a smokey bar, because passive smoking can really distract from a delicious meal!
