Our family went there in 2000 ans we had the best holiday of our lives. We did loads of swimming including SCUBA diving. As a guitarist I loved the music and as a drinker loved the rum. The people are incredibly friendly but had dignity in that they did not fawn on the tourists.

Have been to cuba 6 times and it is really great and very atmospheric, especially in Santiago where the best music is played (i used to play) Santiago used to be the capital until the fifteenth cen. and is in my opion even better than Havana although they both have wonderful shows at their own Tropicana's (dont miss) One can get there by a 2hr flight, or hire a car and drive, what a great experience that is. You can go by train but it's a long slow journey, ENJOY. Ian

My wife and I are considering a holiday in Cuba. We are both over 70 so we are not looking for the club life. We would like to get around the island, and stay for around 3 weeks. Any suggestions?

Went to Cuba in February 2007, I toured with a group for a week and then had a week on my own at Varadero, wonderful!! Felt perfectly safe walking on my own everywhere and I am 72!! Loved the music, the people and the culture, I am looking forward to going again!!!

Its more like the real Cuba, the beaches are fantastic the sea is warm and clear the people make you welcome and are happy to share ameal at their home with you even though they are very poor.Service in the hotels is great ,they cant do enough for you.Afew words in spanish is always well recieved and they are more than happy to help you out if you get stuck .Swimming with dolphins is a must, the best experience i have ever had.Go now before it changes.

CUba is great. Get in before it all changes.... We stayed with familes as part of the homestay it was a fabulous way to get an inside to the culture (but i spoke spanish so it was easier for us). It was really safe when we were there, and cheapish despite the tourist tax!
