Approximately 1 in 10 grizzly bears on Charlotte Island in British Columbia is born white. These rare beasts are known as Kermode Bears, and are an intergral part of the tribal mythology of the First Nation of the Kitasoo, at the tiny coastal village of Klemtu at the edge of the Great Bear Rainforest. From the end of August Canadian Salmon will be returning to the rivers of British Columbia and the grizzlies will be looking to feast on their favorite foods prior to hibernation. We will spend one week at Klemtu and hope to find Spirit Bears...
