Notes
Was going to spend 1 night here but decided to stay the extra night in Lille and make this just a day visit before taking the ferry back to Hull - due mainly to the accomodation in Lille being so nice and it only being a short distance to travel from Lille to Brugge....Right or wrong decision? We will have to wait and see.....
Terry and I were motivated to plan this trip for a number of reasons, and certainly my fear of flying topped that list...trains and boats I can cope with but planes are a definate no-no.
So, since neither of us can think of anything more boring than lazing by a pool for 2 weeks, we decided we would seize the opportunity to do some travelling and see all the places that have long taken our fancy.
We have planned the route with great precision (it's bound to go wrong!) and have tried wherever possible to pre-book train reservations and hotel rooms - but we know it will be a real learning curve and expect to arrive home saying either "We are NEVER doing that again" or, more hopefully, "That was FAB...where shall we go next year?"
If you are interested in finding out how it all turns out - watch this space.
