Puerto Rico Gran Canaria

Great write up on Gran Canaria with some really valuable tips. I have been 3 times and love the place as a great quick sun getaway. There are many bars in the town, but my view is the best 2 are Harleys Dancing and Covent Garden (which are next to each other). Great to send some time doing the cocktails in Covent Garden (at the time it was a very experienced guy called Gisepee). Good tip to help save a few pounds is to go into the bar opposite the 2 aforementioned ones first as they do the same drinks half price, where you can still hear the music and buzz, then when you are ready walk 10 paces and let go!

Ahh yes the 007 bar I think it is called - owned by the same people as Harleys but they do 2-4-1 on drinks (and they are proper drinks not imitation). Get yourself merry in there and then go to the bars opposite to finish the night off ... oh the memories! :o)

i hated gran canaria, apart from watersports they is not much to do at all, my hotel sol y pas was so far up in the hills, it was like learning to walk again everymorning due to the cramps the hills gave me!!! food was awfull and over priced the only nice thing was the sun 10 out od 10 for that!!!!

in rico both ace. my top tip must do if you go is the jet boat in rico gets the blood pumping!! also the kesbah center at ingles as some of the best night life you
can find in europe.

We loveGran Canaria and always hire a car to get around the Island. There are many other places to stay depending on whether you want the nightlife or just to chill out. We stay at Taurito and eat at a beautiful fishing marina just around the headland in Mogan. There are boat trips from here to Puerto Rico. On the cultural side, Las Palmas is worth a visit. Apart from the shops, there is plenty to see if you are interested in architcture and archiology. There are a number of museums around the city.
We never miss a visit to Palmitos Park and also head for the Aquapark at Maspalomas.
We have stayed at the Anfi Del Mar and loved it. We did not find a problem with people veiwing the resort, infact, we bearly noticed them.
Gran canaria gives you what you want, sun, sea and sand. If you want lively head for Playa De Angles or Puerto Rico for that bit slower pace. If you want laid-back, head for the south-west of the island to Amadores, Taurito and Mogan.

I loved Gran Canaria, i went to Puerto Rico too. One of the best holidays i have been on, the people were lovely! :) would go there again anyday :) i didnt go to the water park but my brother did and said it was really good. Quite loud at night due to the clubs and bars but it was ok because i was only 15 and didnt really mind haha. We also went to Sioux city; its like a cowboy and indian themed place set back in time, it was an amazing night out great for all ages so if you go to Gran Canaria then go to Sioux city :):)The market in Mogan i think it was is also very good. :)
