My grandfather came from Roundstone. I have been there a few times on vacation from Boston. Your pictures bring back wonderful memories of the majestical views of the Coast of Galway. Thanks for the memories.
Schull in west cork is the place to go. Schull is a small fishing village and an ideal haven for those who like to mes around on boats, do a spot of fishing, stretch their legs on some magnificent walks,do some pony trecking, or visit the neighbouring towns of Bantry, Skibbereen and Ballydehob. There is also Barleycove for those who like to relax and swim on a magnificent beach and then when day is done there are many pubs and restaurants to share stories and events with friends and family. I should know I have been there every year for the pasr sixty years and this years holiday is alreadt booked!

I totally agree with pcd51 I also love Schull, Bantry, Skibereen and the beautiful area around there - If I could choose a place to live the rest of my life, it would be there. I am so jealous - I wish I was going back this year.
Spooky!! I was just looking at the pictures of Galway and realised I have a picture of the hill from exactly the same spot that Padraic is standing leaning on his car on day 3, beautiful spot on the road from Galway to Cliffden where I spent a week shark fishing last year.
Came to Ireland 30 years ago and stayed, lived in Co Galway, now living in West Cork. You must visit Glengarriff and take a boat to Cape Clear from Schull, visit the Beara peninsula. only trouble is you take a chance on the weather, that is part of Ireland. I keep away from the big cities.
There is an excellent selection of bed and breakfast accommodation all over Ireland that can be booked on www.townandcountry.ie They have a Special Offers section with many great deals. The B&B's in Ireland are run by families and you will always be sure of a warm welcome.
