Start: Epping Tube Station
Travel Central Line
Stop: Marble Arch Tube Station
Good Photo Stop - Marble Arch, Animals of War Memorial, and Speakers Corner
Return to Marble Arch Tube - Continue on Central
Back track on Central one stop to Bond Street, Jubilee line south and transfer at Green Park onto the Piccadilly Line.
Travel one stop over and get off at Hyde Park Tube Station
Pass through Wellington Arch, down Constitution Hill
Buckingham Palace - Changing of the Guards at 11:30 AM
Trek down the Mall to Trafalgar Square & National Museum
Continue down Strand Street, turning towards the river to visit the home of Benjamin Franklin & maybe rest a bit at the Victoria Embankment Gardens.
Cross back over Strand Street to Covent Gardens for shopping, artisans, and good food/drink (WC2E 8HB)
Back on the tube at Covent Garden tube station
Take the Piccadilly line, changing to Central line east
Get off at St Paul's Cathedral tube station
See St Paul's Cathedral, stop at the Tourism Office and trek across the Millineum Bridge to the Tate Modern.
Stroll down the bank (Right from Tate's front door)
Visit Shakespere's Round Theater ... continue down bank
When walkway ends turn right past Nandos (yummy!) and then turn right at the Blue Bar. There is a prison museum on the way if you would like, but keep going and take a right turn into the Burrough Market for eats.
You will come in on the meat and veg side. On the other side you will find the meal vendors. Just up the stairs you will find the most charming little church where you can sit and enjoy your exotic cuisines. This is the lovely Southwark Cathedral.
Make your way across London Bridge to the Monument and Monument tube station
Take either the Circle or the District lines west getting off at Sloan Square tube Station
Visit the Saatachi Gallery of interactive art
Get back on the tube and go one stop down to the South Kensington tube station or just trek the 1 mile (20 min)
At this station you will find the Natural Science Museum, The Natural History Museum, and the V&A Fashion and Art museum.
*** This one stop will take up most of your day
*** The Science Museum contains one of two IMAX theaters
in London. This one only shows educational films
Get back on the tube and take the Piccadilly Line one stop to Knightsbridge tube station or walk the 1 mile (20 min)
This will take you to the famous Harrods.
Note: Once you are looking at all of the food you cannot afford ... there is a Sainsburys across the street.
At this point you should be pretty tired, but if not ... hop back on the tube and take 5 stops east to Covent Gardens and check out the night scene. If that is not your thing, get off at Leicester instead and get a bite to eat in China town.
On the edge of China Town is a little establishment I like very much called De Hems Dutch Bar. Very nice atmosphere, very nice beers, and pretty good food.
When you are finally finished, go north to either the Tottingham Court or the Holbom tube stations to get back on the Central line.
When you get on make sure the sign says it is going all the way to Epping.
Now your day is done.
