Non-customer orientated reservations

This is a review on your reservation service - in order book in earlier than 3pm - I would have to secure 2 nights instead of only the 1 that I wanted - essentially a $300 odd room discounted for advance payment to $225 became $450 just to book in a few hours earlier!!! HOW NON_USER FRIENDLY CAN YOU GET - fair enough if that's the rules, BUT if I had been treated better, I could have easily been persuaded to take another alternative (plus reception puts you on hold immediately even if you are calling from out of town - no 0800 access I was advised0
