Hotel Berner, Zell Am See

Zell am See is very picturesque in summer and we had a mixture of weather but mainly warm and sunny. The local mountain the Schmittenhohe provides the opportunity for trips in cable cars and the gondola to beautiful mountain pastures and incredible views. There are plenty of amusements in the village:-boat trip, walks, lido,lake swim, cafes and bars, summer festivals. We also went on 2 day excursions to Berchesgaden and to Grossglockner, which were both interesting and value for money. The Hotel Berner is a family-run hotel with traditional Austrian style and very friendly staff. The food and service is excellent and I got a lovely cake on my birthday. The swimming pool is heated and the sun terrace is very relaxing. It was our first time in Austria and we would go again, and thoroughly recommend it.
